News Cast - november

I think we did a really good job on our last news cast. Each time we film our performances have been better and better. We now are incorporating our separate stories in the news, which makes it a bit more interesting. Instead of just different events, we have more content that our viewers might be more interested in. For my own performance, I did pretty well. We had a mess up the first attempt with opening the mics but besides that it was good. Our anchors always do a good job and make it seem more professional. We still could use a bit more practice with framing up our shots and making more eye contact with the camera.

Overall, this week we did another great job with almost no mistakes. We have improved a lot since last time.

Movie Review - He loves me, He loves me not

I got the chance to watch this foreign film in my french class and there were some really interesting aspects to this movie that drew my attention.

The acting in this film was fairly good, although it is a bit hard to tell considering they are in a different language. The main character, Loic, played by Samuel Le Bihan, is caught in a very unfortunate position. He has a lover, Angelique, that he does not love back. He keeps on receiving love letters and gifts from her even though he does not want anything to do with her. Loic's wife, Rachel, becomes very suspicious with these love letters and thinks that he is having an affair. The plot has many different twists and turns throughout the film and Angelique's crazed love keeps you wondering what she will do next.

This film is not really my kind of movie but for a chick flick, it was not that bad. This was anything but a "basic" chick flick due to some of the deranged things Angelique does in order to get with Loic. Love will drive you mad.

Our first GOOD news cast review

Well since I was on a Cross Country field trip to Disney most of last week this review is a bit late.

I think we actually did really well on our last news cast. This was by far our best news cast so far. As for my own job, I did all that I could have done. I got the mics open on time and with stable audio levels. Now after we are all comfortable with what we are doing, our news cast seems a lot more professional. One thing that we need a bit improvement on is our camera angles. They are occasionally a bit far off to the side and taking away from our anchors. Overall, I think we did a really great job and it was a huge improvement compared to our last attempt.

October 1 News Review

Looking back on our last news cast, I feel that we actually did a pretty good job, up until JP got confused and made it on to the blooper reel. Everything went really smooth up until then though. Our transitions were on point and everyone seemed to know their lines and when to speak. As for my own performance, I thought I did a decent job. I remember that in our first take, I was late on the mic, but it turned out fine because we just restarted. Being the audio tech can be tricky at times because the cast is always switching their microphones up so every time it is new to me.  As we continue I feel that we will really nail the news cast. We have very small errors that mess us up, and then leads to a big mess up. Once we work those out, I think that our news will be superior to the other section because of our enthusiastic anchors and good camera shots. Our camera crew does need to step it up a bit though, I feel that we are making too many live adjustments that will distract the viewer. Along with that, camera 3 dies out very often and sometimes leads to a black screen.

Now that we got the basics down, we just need to work through some bumps. Overall I think we did a good job until we had to stop.

Guardians of the Galaxy - Movie Review

Guardians of the Galaxy is by far the best movie I have seen in a long time. First off, the casting in this film phenomenal. Chris Pratt, who plays the role of Starlord, brings life and well timed comedy to the movie. Bradley Cooper also did a great job with his part as Rocket Racoon. He was not onscreen, but his voice acting really brought the Rocket's bad attitude to life.

The visual effects and scenery really throws this movie together. With a movie that takes place completely on other planets and space, you need to have a believable environment, and Guardians delivered.

Coming in to this movie I expected a really straightforward, typical space action adventure, but I got so much more. The comedy in the movie really keeps your attention and in touch with the story line. The plot itself was not very original, but it had all sorts of twist and turns to keep you on your toes.

From the unique characters to the story, this movie was all around fantastic. I am always amazed with the Marvel movies, but this one takes the cake.
